Hey I've searched and searched and I can't find a nice Carbon hood with a vent or twin vents in the middle. I dont' like the VIS ones and I need a pretty big vent. I really don't want to have to fabricate one. I like the one on that gold RB26DETT powered 180SX drift car. If anyone can help me find a nice hood, please post pics and a link. I'll try to post pics later of what I'm talking about...

You dont search very hard...

here is one i found in less than 1 minute... if all else fails check the site sponsers...
This is one from raretrick.com
http://www.raretrick.com/index.asp?cat=1909&Page=1&Display=Yes&Back=Listings&ProductsID=6719

your mission, should you choose to accept it, make use of Zilvia's FAMED search button, AND check out the site sponsors and links. Doing this should yeild more than enough choices for you to choose from. Next time, search harder agent nub. This message will self destruct in the time it took me to find the link above. good day.

Ill even get you going in the right direction:

enjoy, next time there will be no spoon-feeding

for 180sx popups with vents yashio factory hood is nice. koguchi power is hawt but its frp (dont know if they make it in cf). and theres also msport.

i was surfing raceonusa's site and theres a cf hood that looks like koguchi power style but made in cf. its made by dmax (a jdm company) but i have no idea how the quality is. but its over 1000 so it better be nice.

Do you have a S13/180SX/S14 Zenki/S14 Kouki/S15 front end?

Guessing you have a 180SX/S13 front end, but Andys Auto Sport makes a Razor hood which is on my car. Fiberglass or Carbon Fiber, mines double sided carbon fiber. Laid it up myself =)

Andys Auto Sport is a vendor on these boards as well.

if u look the nose of motor if visible. water drops on the radiator, clutch fan and fanshroud. there's no electrical things there.

allthe fuse boxes are to the side of the engine bay.

rossfashow

oo!!!! i want one but then i dont want to attract attention but they look bad ass. i wonder it it helps heat from the engine escape since heat rises keeping engine bay temps cooler....

Dousan_PG

vented hoods will lower engine temps for sure.
get a single reverse vented hood, like MSports for example. simple and eye pleasing.

what about the hoods made in the USA?

like from race-on-usa? or C-wings?

anyone have any experience with those brands? I am looking for a CF hood for my Kouki S14.. but dunno what to get, and I don't really feel like spending 1000 USD on a Yashio factory one, unless I win the lottery this weekend.

raceon and cwings are all knockoff parts.

FRpilot
04-27-2006, 02:42 PM
actually i think VIS is pretty good USA made stuff.. for cf hoods anyways.. but i heard they got bought out or out of business.. anyone know any truth to this?

raceon and cwings are all knockoff parts.

well, yea, but how is the quality like? Is it ok? or good? or "you get what you paid for" ?
