would 17X10 +35 fit S14 w/ 275/40/17 w/ only a fender roll?
if not what about 265/40s??
(this is w/ S techs and stock brakes, but later Z brakes and coils)
thinkin about doing 17X8 +25 w/ 235/45/ front, (maybe a 5mm spacer if not flush enough)
and 17X10 +35 w/ widest that will fit w/o a pull (car was recently painted)
thanks for your help!

Ive seen 17x10 +25 on an S13, and it had a slight roll. I'd bet the +35 wouldnt need much of a roll and certainly not a pull, especially on a S14. I dont know how much camber the S13 was running though...
But I would stay away from a x8" and x10" stagger. That setup could add lotsa understeer. A 1 inch stagger is more appropriate if you must stagger in the first place. 17x9F with 17x10R sounds nice to me...

I'm not too sure, so I won't flame hard. But I'm pretty sure that high of an offset is going to yield suspension rubbing problems.

similar to my old set up but i was running 17X9.5 with 265/40/17 in the rear and it didn't rub anything

I had a set of 18x10 +38 wheels w/275 tires and it did not rub on JIC FLT A2's
You should be fine, you might need a minor fender roll depending on how low you are.

only S techs for now, so minimal drop, hopefully some KTS's soon

you need to search the picture thread. so you can learn about fitment and see how things would look. keep searching until your brain hurts, then search some more.

most people in the picture threads are using low offset wheels w/ stretched tires?

I have done extensive searching on this topic. Every one wants wheels to be "flush" and tires that are "stretched" 225's on 10" wheels. Almost nobody tries to put real rubber onto the ground. It's tuff to say what the best offset would be for a 10" wheel.
My next step is to take some carefull measurements of the front and rear, to determine the proper offset for 10" wheels front and rear. I need to cramb275/45/17" V710 rubber as close to the coilovers as possible.
I have seen some S13's w 275's on the rear, but never wider than maybe 245/255 up front. I have taken some ruff measurements, and I think it is possible to fit up to a 275/285 in the rear of an S13 w/ JIC flt'a2's the proper offset, and with a slight roll (if any) of the fender lip.
I will say that I've seen an S13 with 315 hoisers all around but there ride hieght was about 2 feet off the ground....

after searching my ass off, i think this may work well
17x9 +25 fr 245/40/17 (235/45/17??)
17x10 +35 rr 275/40/17 i think just a roll will be fine, since i never plan on slammin the hell out of it
where can i get a good 10mm spacer??? i read fred at wheeladapter.com??

i wouldnt run anything over a 8mmfor a slide on spacer, without longer studs. And i still dont like the longer studs youd be better off getting bolton spacers.
