anyone live in the sarasota, fl area?

Just wondering if anyone lives in the Sarasota, FL area. I was born there back in '82 and was looking to move back there. I have been looking on careerbuilder.com for jobs, but nothing seems to come up in that area in the automotive feild. I am currently an automotive technician, but would really take any decent paying job to get down there. Anyone know what employment is like down there. It is a little hard to find a job in Charlotte, nc and was wondering if it was the same in Sarasota, fl right now. If anyone has any other web sites they know about to find jobs besides careerbuilder and monster please let me know, I gotta get out of this city!:hyper:

Sorry, guess I should have thought of that. I guess my question really covers two things( location and jobs), but in the end I am talking about a specific place. Just figured this would be a good place for it in off topic chat. I would like it to be moved rather than locked if it is concidered out of place.

There are a lot a lot of dealerships in town. If you are ASE certified and have your own tools it isnt to hard to get a job anywhere. The area is constantly expanding so yeah. Why not go through the phone book and start calling people/faxing resumes? Another question, why the f do you want to move to frickin Sarasota Florida?...

Thnaks for the advise. I guess I should get on the phone and start faxing resumes, but I tried that about a year ago with no sucess, no one seemed to be hiring. I figured I would just try to find a business that was looking for someone. I want to move back to Sarasota for many reasons. One, I was born there without a chance to live there. Two, I like it there. I love Siesta Key beach. Three, Charlotte, NC sucks. The number of people here keeps growing every month it seems like. And lastly, I can't stand cold weather, period. I am not intrested in deep south Florida, and I don't care for any of the cities north of Sarasota, except maybe Tampa, but again I would like to live where I was born for some strange reason.

welp, you're not missing much in Sarasota. I lived in Fort Myers most of my life until I moved to Georgia a few months back. BTW, if you ever plan on purchasing a home in Florida, make sure you bring your wallet, cause it's not cheap at all, and it's not getting any better. That's pretty much the largest reason I moved to Georgia was to be able to afford a home. I make good money, but not enough to live back there again.
