I bought a 60gb video iPod, I love it, it is easy to use, alot more so than my brothers toshiba mp3 player, I have absolutly no complaints about it. works better and simpler than any windows based music device/ program (iTunes):bigok: I have used before.

the more competition to apple the better imho. my nano magically stopped working after about 6 weeks...didn't get dropped, mishandled or anything less than tlc. now apple's customer service rears its ugly head and they want to treat me like a barbarian who just discovered fire.
apple=teh suck. go microsoft!!!!

No, I am saying I am perfectly happy with mine, not that it is better than a non existant competitor. Some competition isn't good, but I have no reason to look at another product.
I can safely say that it will take a lot more than these devices to take away from apple's sales. In case you haven't noticed these PMP's have been out for years. I have tried many MP3 players over the years and the only thing that was ever better than my iPod(mini) was my Rio Karma. It had hardware issues though. I now have a 60GB iPod vid and I absolutely love it. Paired with my Shure E4 earphones I'm in musical/visual bliss.

You're kidding right? They have some of the best customer service in the business(in my personal experience). One of my mini's needed to be replaced and they sent a labeled box to my house with instructions. I simply put the mini in the box and had fedex pick it up. They sent me a brand new unit in return(free of charge of course). But then again, maybe I just got lucky.

I love my ipod, and i am planning on buying a vid ipod very soon, but ill tell you guys that reguardless of what microsoft comes out with, it wont make it because the ipod has something that no other mp3/mediua player has; STAR POWER.
as long as celebs keep rocking them, the public will keep buying them, which is shown from the 5 straight year of the ipod being the number one seller. hell apple doesnt even need to sell computers anymore cause that ipod is the biggest deal since sliced bread.

I hope you didn't pay retail for those. I have e5's and e2's that i use for work (as well as with my ipod shuffle). They are alright, but I think I will be going with westones as soon as I can get molds made :bigok:
I've been told that the e4's have a extended high frequency range but are lacking in the low end compared to the e3's. Don't know if you've had any experience with the e3's though.

I wish I were kidding. It's not that I couldn't fill out the form online and have them send me a box, it's just that the people I spoke to on the phone were such monumental assholes and condescending to boot. Maybe I got un-lucky.

^^^ Hmmm, Apple has good customer support. If you want to try, go to an Apple store and talk to the people there. I can almost garuntee that you will get treated well and IIRC you can give them the Ipod and skip the shipping deally... goodluck anyhow...
As for my Ipod, I got a 60GB Vid and I love the thing. Paired with the new(ish) h.264 encoding format I can save DVD quality movies in sub 600MB files and watch them everywhere. Plus I have the AV cables and even on amy 28in. TV the quality is pretty good. Microsoft may be able to capatalize on supporting AVI files and having a more drag and drop environment, cuz alot of non computer-savvy people I know with Ipod Vids can't figure out how to get non Apple media on there. It really is quite simple, but for the generally uneducated masses, simplicity may be a good selling point for Microsoft.
Edit: Another thing Apple has going for it is it's THE Mp3 player. Regardless of much of the competition, Apple is the most known. I mean we're talking about a product that almost singlehandedly (w/ the iMac) saved Apple from bankruptcy. People who don't care about specifics think about an Mp3 player and they think "Oh everyone I know has an Ipod, and people have been raving about them for years, etc." wwhat do you think they'd buy? Easy, an Ipod...
Well, as I've said since I was 10, Apple FTW..

Damn, I thought I would be the only loser on here with semi high end headphones. The E4's are very nice. The only other shure's I've had experience with are my old E1's. Ever been on head-fi?

PS. I'm jealous...

I have them b/c I work in the concert industry and most of the artists I work with use e3, e5 or custom molded in-ears. Otherwise I would have never bought these cuz they're exspensive and compared to high quality studio headphones they sound like crap. They are great on airplalnes and stuff. Although I don't recomend the e2's beacuse they were horribly uncomfortable (for me anyways). I've never seen e4's in the industry probably b/c they are relativley new. I'm sure some people are using them.
I think I've been on head-fi before.

I always thought that you had to spend alot of time in coffe shops and only use recycled paper to have an Ipod? but to each thier own. i am looking at one of those cube MP3 players. 1GB in a 1 inch cube hard to go wrong.

Anyone has a link to that Toshiba unit that doesn't ask me sign up? Or at least the name of the device?
