i ment to say "anybody good with chevy small blocks?"

a recent thread on here just sparked a new interest for me...decided to go with aluminum block and cyl. heads for a long term project non carb.... going efi but looked at some articles and net weight is 450-490lbs with everything except for transmission....

here is the question i dont know shit about chevy small blocks.. iv found some places.... but just woundering if any of you guys know of good places and/or books to read up on... thanks in advance....

there was a thread or two about this. You want the Ls1 basically. Not too easy to get it into a 240 though..especially the transmission. An Lt1 would be easier but it's an iron block, also you can use a 90's camaro 5-speed tranny which is easier to fit under the tunnel.

Ls1 yeah,their not easy to get your hands on either. Amazing,absolutely best domestic motor ever made IIRC.

Ford small blocks aren't quite as wide as the chevy small blocks

well its for a track only car... i have an idea of what im in for.... there is going to be alot of cutting and welding i got to take a look at a crate ls1 the other day and found out what i needed to know and i know this isnt going to be drop in swap... in the end i think itll be worth it.. thanks for the replys
