Ok here is the deal , i went to traffic court today to testify that a cop yelled at my buddy and cursed at him who was pulled over for doing donuts. His lawyer seem to have thought that it woudl help the case. Everythign turned out ok wreckless got dismissed and he just got to pay some other fine. BUT after cop walked up to me asking my name... i asked if i was obligated to say and then refused to give i tto him. After which that prick said that he will get it from Court(not sure what htat meant) and then sue me in civil court for False aligations. My buddys lawyer also refused to give him my name(cop asked him my name also).
I testified to the fact that cop yelled at my friend nad said "What the fuck are you doing?" i know that this happened i didnt make that up nor did my friend to hlep the case.
My question is can he get my info somehow and actually get me in court? Only time i gave my name is when lawyer said "state your name for the record"( then i described what happened) . But obviosly cop didnt hear it or wasnt listening. I know that sometimes there is a person/clerk that types everything people say... or is it just in movies? i am sure i didnt see anyone like that.
Should i worry about this at all? Even if he gets my last name hows he going to know i am who i... like confirm my identity.

Don't sweat it. Chances are he was just pissed off at the moment and won't go through with the tedious legal process, which would probably be a trivial he-said-she-said thing in the end.

Maybe I didn't see it but why don't you try asking the lawyer that was there with your friend? I mean if you end up getting sued, wich is a possibility, don't just 'not worry about it' your friend should hafta cover it.

i HIGHLY doubt the cop would go through the trouble to do that. he would have to file more paperwork than he already has to do plus he doesnt have any evidence to prove his point. His chance of winning this case of sueing u is very small so dont even worry about it. PLUS they probably wouldnt want to spend that much money to get a lawyer anyways. He'd lose more money trying to win the case than the money he would try to sue for.

You shouldn't be worried if you did no wrong doing.
Don't lie. Never ever lie.

he has no legal grounds to sue you. there's no such thing as "false aligations"
it's either slander or libel-slander is spoken and libel is written.
-if what he is trying to sue you for was what you said in court under oath, he would first have to prove that you purjured yourself(lied under oath).
-since there was obviously no police camera involved (if there was you wouldn't have gone to court in the first place for your friend), he can't prove that what you said was a lie and therefore can't sue you for slander...
case dismissed.

He's going to hunt you down, camp out in front of your house and pull you over every chance he gets.

^^^ I agree with S14DB ... i heared story like this before, that someone got tagged by cop. Always got random pull over on the streets (ex. 3 times a week). If i were you, i will make sure to drive safely and no illegal mod in the car. But i wonder if change a license plate or transfer the car owner title to your family member will help.
But your friend does deserve a ticket for making donuts in public.

I was joking about this. But there are police harassment laws. Get to know your states.
what the hell is wrong with a cop asking you what the fuck you're doing when you're doing goddamned donuts?

it's obvious he's doing donuts... why would he have to ask? unless he's an idiot.

not sure how it works but when u go to court they ask you what you plead, u have the obvious options, guilty and not guilty but theres also no contest, i asked before and they said its pretty much so u can get sued in civil court

You can get out of a ticket if the cop yells and curses at you?
I got yelled and cursed at by two cops right before receiving a "failure to yield" citation, over the loud speaker too.
I did stop, but i didn't see the cops comming.
