Widing Racing seat

Hi guys ! i bought a used Recaro seat at a local JDM shop but i forgot to sit in it to see if it fits.. now at home my A$$ is too big for it :S is there a way to wide it buy 1 inch or so ?

cut it down the middle with a hacksaw, set it apart by how wide you want it, lay fiberglass across the gap, smooth it over with bondo! BIM BAM BOOM

u left out the seat cover....stretching that also or making a new one.....and having one made...

i have seen people use factory jack to widen the seat. just make sure u leave it there for a few day.

plan b. get a JDM ASS to go with the seat.

modifying a recaro just isnt safe/right

but yeah, gotta do the in person test fit before buying

at least if its a recaro you got good resale value

i think hed just crack the seat if he tried spreading it, youll have to sell it and get another

Heat gun it before you try spreading it. that will help avoid cracking it. But thats only gonna give a little. you may wind up needing to get it refoamed as well. You might be able to remove a little foam for some more room.

Spreading it?? are you guys serious??

Buy a seat that fits. Even trying to widen it slightly I would imagine greatly compromises the safety of a seat.
