Hello, a friend of mine is having a problem with her tranny. She called me and told me her car isn't going into gear. It doesn't want to go into ANY of the forward drive gears at all. She also said that when she tries to force it into first even with the clutch down, the car will start to roll forward (no she's not on an incline). Any ideas? It was working perfectly fine the night before...
PS: it's a SOHC s13, with 170k miles.

What does she mean by it "doesn't go in to gear"? Does it grind? Or does it just not move forward? gotta be more specific.
Check clutch master fluid & transmission fluid.

She said it doesn't grind, it just doesn't go into gear. I remember last time you had to let the car warm up to get it into gear... It just doesn't want to go in.

Check tranny fluid. When I used shockproof it had a tough time going in cold. While, warmed up it shifted like butter.

That seems really touchy. Doesn't that imply something else could be going wrong? Bad seals or something?
