Clutch or slave cylinder problems

Iam not to sure what the problems on my car is now but, It can start in nutral but it wont let me put it into any gears, i can start it in 2nd and reverse but when i do i have to force it in very hard and it makes a grinding noise. When i stop with my foot on the clutch in gear my car dies. Any suggestions, i asked a friend of mine and he said it might be my slave cylinder but iam not sure

Ok to trouble shoot you are going to have to have a buddy step on the clutch while you check the throw of the slave cylinder. Truly you can replace both Master and slave for about $50.00, the slave is about $15.00 and the master is about $35.00.

replace all of that stuff all together..... who knows how bad ur car is.......

i would recommend you use oem stuff; i had a pep boys spl slave cylinder take a crap on me in 3 months.

ya replace both for sure
get it over with
and i suggest a speed bleeder o nthe slave too. makes life SO MUCH easier

ive never had problems w/ cheapie pep boys spl clutch slaves.

when you are looking at the slave for good movement, pull the little rubber booty back a little bit and check for fluid leaking, thats usually the only thing that will cause a slave to go bad. if it is dry and no leakage its probably good. check the mastercylinder as well, look on the firewall and underneath by your pedal for any moisture or any signs of leakage. sounds like your clutch isnt fully engaging or disengaging, hopefully you have already check your fluid level.

i just bought a master cylinder and still had probs so i just got my slave cylinder today i will repost by the end of the day with lastest info
