fastest and quickest way to take off motor /trany mounts

alright long story short my friend is giving me new motor and trany mounts...but the only thing is its on his car and i have to give him mine...i was wondering whats the quickest and easiest way to take off the motor mounts and trany mounts...im more conserned about the motor mounts...because i imagine the trany mount is easy...i was thinking about hooking up a chain to one side of the motor and lift it up a bit and then replace the motor mounts...any help will be great

jack up the car and support with jackstands

unbolt motor mounts top and bottom. this will be the hardest part... on one side the bolts on the underside are hard to get to because of an odd angle. both sides will most likely be seized or rusted by now.

after that's done, jack up the engine where it meets the tranny until you can clear the motor mounts. take one out and put the new one in. do the same for the other side. lower carefully so they seat properly. bolt them back in.

when you say chain i assume you're using a cherry picker too. it isn't much more complicated. either way should work fine.

ya i mean cherry picker. the motor mounts are new...he put them on but now hes selling the car....the hardest part i think is going to be the angle...

i use a floor jack with a 2x4 on the engine so you dont dent the oil pan

jack up car. set it on jackstands...... take tranny mounts off.. then support the tranny with a jack... then lift engine with cherry picker.. unbolt motormounts...slip in ur stuff............ this is best to do with both cars side by side u know this right??????

ya thats what i was thinking....umm i pretty much have one set of mounts off because im taking it off a motor set....
so i guess this is the best and fastest way to take off the mounts...

unbolt the exhaust too

yes, dont forget about the exhaust.. make sure that theres nothing in the way while your jacking the motor.. theres heater hoses in the back of the motor that connect to the fire while that can split..and make for an even longer day..
