Question is do I need that gray sealant crap.

Brand new waterpump came with a paper gasket.

Should I seal it up as well, or just only use the gasket?

Simple question, thanks in advance!

Im not sure if its mandatory, but I know people have told me both, some do and some dont. I knwo that doesnt help much but maybe someone can chime in with a specific reason why you should or shouldnt... I heard spread thin layer of gasket maker on both sides of paper gasket and your good.

OEM pump doesn't come with a gasket. Aftermarket does.

When I changed my pump I used that gasket maker stuff and it's air tight. My OEM replacement waterpump didn't come with a gasket. The gasket should be fine.

It's an aftermarket one
It's just for my KA, tryin to save a couple of bucks.

I think I will settle with not using any gasket maker unless I go "get" some from kragens :P Muahahaha

Fine I'll just have to use both dangit.

So I don't need to start another thread:
Can someone confirm what TOB to use with a SPEC clutch?
It's for an SR20DET RWD.

I searched and it said one from a KA is fine. CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM?

I used some pepboys RTV and it didn't hold. I had coolant leaking around the water pump. So, I just got some oem RTV. It was more expensive but it doesn't leak now.

You didn't apply it right, let it dry, or didn't use enough. RTV is RTV.

Yeah I "bought" some from Kragens today.
It was the special one for waterpumps and some other water thing.
It's like $5.99 for a small squeeze tube maybe good for like, 4 waterpumps.
