Apex multichecker

I heard of this product that apex makes called the multichecker. It somehow gives a horsepower reading to u from the info it gets from the ECU. How accurate is it and how is the HP derived(through a formula or an extra sensor?)?

Monitors all various aspects of NISSAN vehicles using the diagnostic signal.
