Hi everyone. Last week my KA24DE (bless its soul) spun a rod bearing and needs replacing. My original plan was for a KA-T project but I figured I would take this opportunity to swap in a CA. My mind has been made so please don't give me suggestions about other engines. Anyways, I just want someone with some CA experience to look over/help me with my list of everything I am going to need to make the swap go as smoothly as possible and have the engine last as long as possible (short of a complete rebuild), also so I know how much I'm looking at spending. So other than the basics like ecu, ignitor chip, maf, and whatever else usually comes with a motorset,
-SR o2 pipe and downpipe
-new clutch
-replace gaskets and main seals
-replace timing belt and tensioner
-replace vacum lines
-all the proper tranny and engine fluids
-new fuel pump (which I'm guessing to be absolutley necessary, but will I need to use a FPR if I were to use a walbro 255lph pump?)
-FMIC if sidemount isn't provided
-new spark plugs
-possibly new water & oil pump for good measure
I don't have any specific power goals in mind right off the bat, I just want to get the engine running without any problems. So if anyone could look over my list and tell me if I need anything else or wants to share some words of wisdom and not bullshit, that would be great. Thanks alot.

Thats sound about right, u do not need FPR to use the walbro I ran with out 1, but its a lil rich. Where are u getting the CA from?? front clip, engine set??
Also the front seal is very hard to change unless there is some visual leak.I won't worry about it. and if u nee any extra info, Nico will be ur best place for CA. C

There is a CA Sticky in Tech Talk. I'd suggest starting there.

looks like you have a good start, i run royal purple snchromax tranny fluid and royal purpble motor oil. frontclip is best but motorset just make sure the wiring harness is complete, itll save big head ach later. and like thatguy said, the CA FAQ has a shit ton of good info.

or else feel free to hit me up on AIM : Idealstudent

how many miles does the ca has on it???
i just ask because con rod bearings worn out at 90tkm - 130tkm (should be around 55tm - 80tm).
belive me, i`m from europe and all s13 come with ca18det and the s14 with sr20det `s
AND ALL CA18DET`s WITH THAT MILEAGE ARE WORN OUT, BELIVE ME
why????
when i was looking for an s13 i try 7 cars with a mileage around this,
AND EVERY SINGLE ONE, THE CON ROD BEARING WAS WEARING OUT
until i decide to by a cheap one and rebuilt the engine.

i`m not try to say buy another engine,i also would go with the ca instead the ka or sr, BUT REBUILD IT at these mileage
