Hi everyone. Last week my KA24DE (bless its soul) spun a rod bearing and needs replacing. My original plan was for a KA-T project but I figured I would take this opportunity to swap in a CA. My mind has been made so please don't give me suggestions about other engines. Anyways, I just want someone with some CA experience to look over/help me with my list of everything I am going to need to make the swap go as smoothly as possible and have the engine last as long as possible (short of a complete rebuild), also so I know how much I'm looking at spending. So other than the basics like ecu, ignitor chip, maf, and whatever else usually comes with a motorset,
-SR o2 pipe and downpipe
-new clutch
-replace gaskets and main seals
-replace timing belt and tensioner
-replace vacum lines
-all the proper tranny and engine fluids
-new fuel pump (which I'm guessing to be absolutley necessary, but will I need to use a FPR if I were to use a walbro 255lph pump?)
-FMIC if sidemount isn't provided
-new spark plugs
-possibly new water & oil pump for good measure
I don't have any specific power goals in mind right off the bat, I just want to get the engine running without any problems. So if anyone could look over my list and tell me if I need anything else or wants to share some words of wisdom and not bullshit, that would be great. Thanks alot.
