View Full Version : Anyone running a #61 ecu on their SR?

Im wondering if anyone out there know FOR SURE what a #61 ecu is for? Ive always heard it was for an auto S13 SR20DET, but after doing a little more research I see some people think its for an auto GTIR SR20DET and some say its for an SR20DE. anyone know for sure? or even better, anybody running one on their sr20det 5-speed?

i thought 63 was auto redtop sr20det?

Nope, I just run a #62 ECU.
Maybe you could get a part number off of it and someone could reference it.

SR20DET ECU

E5 is from a 94-96 180sx black top 5 speed
E6 is from a 94-96 180sx blacktop automatic
WC is from a 94-98 S14 Silvia
62 is from a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia 5 speed
61,63 is from a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia automatic
J4 is from a 97-98 180sx Type X 5speed

Like the info above^^^ says it's from an auto. Assuming your running an SR20DET, it should work. Auto ECU's will work for a manual, but manual ECU's will not work on an auto.

I know the info above says its an auto sr20det, but has anyone ran an sr20det on a #61 ecu? The only auto ecu's I know people HAVE used are #63s. I will get the part number and post it up soon.

Obviously some of the 91-93 Silvia's or 180SX's that are automatic's ran an SR20DET with a #61 ECU...or that info is wrong.

Thats what im trying to find out. Ive never heard of anyone using a #61, only a #63 and #62. Ive also heard the #61 is for the sr20de and not the sr20det. I guess ill find out soon enough.

I agree that I have never seen anyone run a 61 but if that info is correct it should work fine. I am running a 63 and have been since day one on my 5 sp sr20.

Are you having some sort of problem with yours?
