Can anyone guide me on the right path to figure out what tire pressure I should be running on the street everyday? My tire sizes are as follows, 215 40 17, and 235 40 17. I would like not only the number but also the how to figure it out for whatever size I might run in future etc.
Thanks

Have you tried...

READING THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE??

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

yeah but that only states max pressure of 51psi. There's no way that can be right on an everyday street use.

If they both say max 51psi, then you can keep adding air till you reach 51psi, until you find something that suits you, whether it be lower pressure for more comfort/grip, or higher pressure for stiffer sidewall.

Reading the sidewall is not the way to figure out "correct" tire pressure. That max pressure reading I believe applies to the pressure when the tire becomes very hot (such as on the track).

To figure out a good tire pressure, just see how much your sidewall is "scrubbing." You'll see some markings on the sidewall. Increase or decease the pressure of the tires so that the marked sidewall is not too far onto the sidewall, but not so far away from it either (you want it in the zone around the corner where the contact portion and the sidewall meet).

Some tires even have little markers to show you where the ideal scrub marks should be. (Azenis have tiny triangles).

depends on the tires and what you want your setup to be.
i run 38psi on the street, and 32 at the track.
45psi if you want to drift =O

I run 47psi all around on my falkens. (max pressure 51 psi)

since i run crappy sizes I make up for it with stiffening up the big 55 sidewalls
