History was made this past weekend at the D1 US vs. Japan exhibition match at Irwindale Speedway in California. Despite the fact that the best drifters in Japan were in attendance and even with the track in a different configuration than ever before, Vaughn Gittin scorched his way through the rounds to be the first US driver ever to beat the Japanese in a D1 event. The final standings looked like this.
1st: Vaughn Gittin
2nd: Tatsuya Sakuma
3rd: Toshiki Yoshioka
4th: Masato Kawabata
5th: Youichi Imamura
6th: Nobushige Kumakubo
7th: Masao Suenaga
8th: Michihiro Takatori
9th: Hiroshi Fukuda
10th: Samuel Hubinette
What this will mean for US drifting we can only guess. But one thing is assured. Next time the Japanese drivers will stop at nothing to get a win and the US drivers having seen that it is possible to beat the previously unbeatable Japanese will be looking to add a few more wins to their tally. No one knows where this turn events will lead, but it’s bound to make things a lot more interesting.

I tried to talk to one of you at d1 at your booth. Why are y'all so stuck up? I heard that you don't even have a lift at your shop. There are countless other shops in So Cal (And at least 2 others that carry Kei Office) so I encourage you guys to change your attitude.

Uhhhh, that's all fine and good except for the fact that we didn't have a booth at D1.
I don't doubt that you talked to someone who gave you attitude but I assure you that it was no one from our company. I have even received calls from angry customers because they believed that we were someone else. lol. Now they ARE our customers and they are pleased with the quality of service that we provide.
Gooooo USA! Btw nice pix :)

We understand that the watermarks can be annoying and if you look back at our old galleries, we did not have watermarks of this type. However, it takes a lot of work to get pictures like this and to put up a gallery this large. Sadly, people have very little respect for this in general and we know from experience that if we release a 500 picture gallery today without watermarks there will be clones tomorrow. I have even had other companies hot link their catalog product pictures directly from our server. It is also unfair to our photographer Gentatsu who spent the entire day running back and forth to get these pics.
On a brighter note we are looking to make some backgrounds in the near future that will not be watermarked. These will be available on our website when completed.

I've said this once and I'll say it again:
dude, with all these drift events in America and all this track time easily aviable, (at least in CA), I'm not suprised one bit that Americans are starting to overtake the Japanese in drift competions.
of course, if the competion was in Japan, I'm sure some Japanese dude would win. Judging is a little baised I think

You're right. It was a previous event. It was GT Live. In any case, whoever it was wasn't very friendly.

but now instead of people actually getting to enjoy the pictures he took and maybe save them for personal use to look at again later or use as a background or whatever, they're instead worthless. you should just put a small company logo in the bottom righthand corner or something so people who wanna save the pics can crop it out or w/e or so it doesnt destroy the entire picture.

Great pics! Not to be repetitive but I think the watermark was a little overboard. Like already said a smaller, less intrusive watermark would be better. Anyway thanks for the pics.

If he used a smaller, less intrusive watermark, then it would be just as easy for people with bad intentions to just photochop it out and use it to their advantage, ie. using those pics to sell things on ebay or something.
Whomever's on DF's account that posted here already said that there will be watarmark less desktop style pics in the near future for you all to enjoy, so why not wait for those and practice a little patience?
Or better yet, if you guys find a pic that you really liked, perhaps you could email DF and be like "hey I like this pic of _________________, can you send me one without the annoying double watermark across the entire picture so I can put it up as my wallpaper?"
Knowing DF being good peoples, they'll probably hook you up if you ask nicely.

they may have a deep dish, but overall they're pretty ugly looking wheels.

They aren't that bad. A little too stylish for me but I don't think they look bad. They look kind of like a stylish version of those BBS retro rims.

Looks like I didn't miss much. .. .Thanks for these images, but that water mark did bug my eyes, on top of the fact that I'm lookin at a computer screen. .. .
Seems like damn near everyone totaled their car.. .. sad reality, happends.
