Just wanted to see where all you 240 owners are spending all your hard earned cash at. Online shops or actual shop near your house. I'm currently looking for parts and this will help steer me towards the better places to shop depending on your feedback. Thanks!

JY

p.s.-if anyone has recently purchased a B&M short shifter, please post a price and location =)

I have not bought anything yet because I just got the car. But ProjectD has everhing ( http://www.autoimaging.com/ ).

Talking to peps up there, they seem to be real knowledgeable about the 240sx and other cars too. The product line they cary there is some of the best too so don't go there looking for a bunch of APC.

I have to agree w/ the chimp everything that I have bought has been off of enjuku and they always, always have the lowest prices and they are dead reliable it has never taken longer than three working days to get anything

What more can you ask for:
-good products including b&m shifter for $259
-knowdlegable crew that is very helpful
-and they will price match
-fast delivery w/ tracking number (just call them and get it)

All the parts I've bought for my cars had to be special ordered and these were the places I used. I've had no problems with any of them. All of them can get stuff that's not listed on their site, just ask them.

Alamo Motorsports (http://www.alamomotorsports.com)
Jspec (http://www.jspec.com)
MVP Motorsports (http://www.mvpmotorsports.com)
Project D (http://www.autoimaging.com)

JSPEC is a good company, just hard to get stuff in a timely manner sometimes b/c some of it comes from overseas and takes a while in shipping. But they have always been very good about answering my questions, etc. I hear they can get about ANything JDM you might want, you just have to ask.

As the name implies, they work on both domestics and imports, but they're more a repair shop than they are equipped for mods and whatnot. Still though, great guys.

I've told this story a bunch of times, but it really sums up what a wonderful place that is to take your car, and besides, most of you havn't heard it...

When I first bought my 240 about three years ago, I brought it to them because it needed new shocks in the back and tires all around. I said, "It's a sports car, and I'm excited about that", because I used to drive a Cherokee, "so I want some tires on here that are fun to drive with - ya know, responsive and everything - but, it's also my only car, so I need something that'll handle rain and crap. So, uhm, yeah, get me something like that and then lemme know what it cost."

So, they did it, and woo-ee was that thing fun to drive. My girlfriend at the time lived towards the end of a very long, very winding road, and those tires actually managed to make that trip even more worthwhile than it already was. Seriously, a great drive.

Anyway, so meanwhile, a buddy of mine is researching the crap out of tires. He's reading reviews, checking test scrores, talking to people, etc, etc for three weeks - yes, three weeks - before he finally buys himself a set of tires for his 240.

He comes to me all proud of himself, saying, "Yo, man, I got the BEST tires! Check it out, I did all my research, and these things are the COOLEST you can buy!" He was really excited. So I asked him, "Well, what'd'ya get?". He replied, "Yo, man," (this is how he talks) "I got me some Yokohoma Avid H4's". I said, "Hmmm.. that sounds really familiar."

"No way, they couldn't. Man, these tires are the shit!"

"I'm sure they are, but seriously, that sounds familiar."

"You'd have to really know your stuff like me to have ever heard of these."

"Why don't we just walk down to my car and look?"

"Sure, man, but, yo, you're not going to have these."

"Okay, okay..."

So, we walk up to my car and read the name off the side of the tires. Sure enough, they were Yokohama Avid H4's.

"Whatever, man. But you didn't get a deal like me! Dude, I paid SEVENTY FIVE bucks a piece for mine!", he exclaimed.

"Well, my receipts in the glove box. Lemme check what mine cost."

I get the receipt, look at it, and say, "Ah, yes. You're right. You did get a better deal than me. Man, I had to pay seventy SEVEN bucks a piece. It may have taken you three weeks, but sure enough, you managed to save eight bucks."

I say again, my mechanics rock.

Follow up: The next time I went for tires, I said, "Throw some more of those Yokohamas on there. They're great." Their response was, "Yokohamas? Those are so last year".

Hahahaha. Anyway, I ride on Toyos now. =)
