Has anyone heard anything about the NISMO short shifter? I have heard a little about the OBX one, but I personally dont care to much for that brand. I figured a Nissan product would work better, but I have not heard many people talk about it.

The Nismo shifter is "solid shifter" does not reduce throw.
it removes the "spongy" feeling associated with the stock shifter. if you are ok with the length of the throw on your shifter, then it's a good one to get, but if you are looking for a shorter throw, I would not recommend it.
OBX came out with a new shifter which supposedly does not have the seperation problem anymore.

Rob (KoukiS14) has one and I've driven it...Like Grant said...if you don't mind the stock shifter's throw length, then it would be a decent choice. It makes the shifter feel a bit notchier than stock, but the throw length is pretty much untouched.

OK, thanks. Thats what I wanted to know, I do want a shorter throw as well as a more solid shift. Would it be bad to take a hacksaw and cut it shorter and retap the threads?

I believe B & M came out with a short shifter for the skyline, that supposedly will work on the 240's as well (according to Sport Compact Car). I am personally in the market right now as well. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

B&M currently has a ss for our cars (don't need a skyline one). Many people on the forums have one. If you don't mind the price ($250 I think) or the slight vibration noise, then it's the one of the best on the market. Like Grant said, OBX has a new design that isn't supposed to fall apart if you want to get a cheap one. Or you can wait and try to find a used ss like I did ($120 for used B&M). There's also Cusco, but not sure if it's a short or solid shifter.
