i will be picking up a set of 17x8 work vs-xx rims this weekend. since they are a 3 piece wheel, heres my question. is it possible to widen the wheel at all? like get an extra 2" lip? anyone heard of doing this before? anyone done this before? i will be contacting my local work dealer later on this week/early next week for more info. just wondering if this is a shot in the dark. what im thinking is ordering a 2" wider lip directly from work.

thanks.

you mite be able to reverse the lips, but that might give you t much lip and a lot of negative offset

what do you mean by reversing the lips? basically turning the face of the wheel around? my intentions are not for a bigger lip specifically, but a 10" wide wheel. i just figured the lip side would be the most cost effective. maybe ill have to just buy 2 17x10"s eventually. im gonna need it some day.

I believe you would be able to buy 2 in. wider lips. Your best bet would be to talk to the people you are buying the wheels from or contact work.

you can widen the lips buy purchasing new barrels from a company in England, i forgot their name at the moment...

Work Wheels will widen the lips for you if and only if you provide them the wheels and since they are only certified to do it will cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$
