I'm confused about a warning light

My battery light is on and my brake light is on My brake fluid is full and my alternator is charging 14.2 volts. Any ideas? Also does anyone know how to diagnose the exhaust lamp on the jdm gauge cluster?

check your taillamp bulbs.

well that is something that i havent checked. What do you think that would have to do with the brake and battery lamp?

might have some parasite on your electrical system even though charging ok, and driving fine, when you stop somehting might be draining power

maybe it's a feature Nissan included to let you know you have a bad bulb/fuse.

your brake light is on because the little rubber piece that hits the switch on your pedal has worn away, or broke. look under your pedal, and see where it hits the switch. you'll notice theres something missing. you need a new rubber bushing in it, any parts store stocks it.

the piece of rubber is still there and the switch works properly. The battery light is dimmer than the brake light.
