View Full Version : What Alignment Settings on Stock Suspension
Well, I'm due for an alignment and I want to experiment with the numbers. I'm interested in running a little negative camber for better cornering grip. On stock suspension what camber should/can I run? Toe? Caster? This is a daily driver, but I take my corners at high speeds. :)
I search but only get results for aftermarket suspensions, not stock. Thanks in advance.

The only adjustable settings on stock S13's and S14's are front and rear Toe and rear Camber. The most negative Camber you can run on the rear stock is 1.25 degrees Camber using the stock eccentric bolt (assuming your can isn't lowered which will add more negative Camber). You are very limited in what you can do with the stock suspension.

yeah, it's rather limited, that's why people upgrade to adjustable parts...
as mentioned above, you can mess with the limited camber and play with toe in/toe out, there are several threads on it...
some people run positive 1 up front, negative 1 rear or 0 toe front, -1 rear, helps turning, but camber, i think i had -1.5 all around before on stockers before...

for me stock im going to be running
-1.5 camber front
0 toe
caster (i hvae Tc rods adj) .5 degrees over stock.
rear
-1
and 0 toe
From what I see, it is normal to run more negative camber up front than in the rear??? For some reason I thought it would be the other way around. So I can't adjust camber up front only rear? I was going to try -1 camber all around.
Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the responses.I know a lot of people here run ridiculous camber in the front because it makes the tire upright at full opposite lock, which I am sure is quite beneficial for drifting. I really don't know that much about it as my preference, and area of expertise, is grip driving. Tires do tend to produce their maximum grip at about -0.5* of camber, however it's important to recall that static camber on an alignment rack is completely different than dynamic camber out on the racetrack, and there are numerous factors in the suspension design of 240's, and every other car, that change the alignment of the suspension as wheel travel occurs. Some are counterproductive, and so aftermarket suspension products allow them to be compensated, whereas other dynamics are important and if they're out of wack, your handling will be too.
Well yeah, I guess you can say its for grip. This car dosent see drifting.
