Ok a friend of mine was having some clutch issues, and I was down to help him out tonight. To make a long story short we replaced both master and slave cylinders in approx 2hrs. This included trouble shooting, test drives, running parts and doing the work. Also it was less than $50.00 to do both. Now he has a new system, and it did not take long to do it.:hsdance:
Also it has been along time since I have drove a stock manual trans 240 with the clutch damper. Wow... big difference in the feel of the pedal, mine has almost no pedal resistence where as his has a ton.

I was just happy to have a 5spd after my swap.. now the little details are starting to bug me..

I used an s13 tranny and it has a whinny input shaft bearing.. I just bought s14 manual pedals... and new slave and MC are next..

the little things...

i like my clutch. but its about to go. im thinking replacement with a damper removal. see how that holds up.

i REALLY like the stiff pedal. are you saying that it gets pansy after you remove the damper?

my friends FC has serious clutch problems. i think cause he pissed off his mechanic. :brand new clutch that grabs at the top of the pedal range and slips on hard 1st-2nd shifts. then, he takes it back, they bleed the system and the pedal feels like a feather. wtf. after he was a jackass by not doing anything about it, his clutch stopped disengaging.

anyway, i dont want a feather pedal. gotta have feedback

Sounds like your boy needs to adjust the length of the rod on the clutch pedal.
