I got my engine through a shop called Hybridynamics. Great condition when I got it and it fired right up! They even offer wiring service too! check out their site at http://shop.hybridynamics.com

What ever you do, do not go throught ARDperformance.com. I have had nothing but problems, bought my motor in May and still don't have it!!!

your in florida, I would think there could be a few local shops around you that could get it. Id go that route, because if its a crap motor, you can raise hell on em etc..

When I was first shopping for my SR I went with a groupbuy right here on zilvia.net.

Worst mistake I've made in a while. But, sometimes...even though you know it's too good to be true, you still hope it isn't.

Anyway, long story short, the groupbuy went south and I ended up buying my SR from Heavy Throttle.

Yes, I paid $1300 more for it, but at least I received an engine.

Now, depending on where you're located you might be able to get a cheaper price for an engine locally. But I live in Utah and we don't exactly have a big supply of JDM engines.

So, for what it's worth, go with Heavy Throttle.

what is the difference btw the type x motor and a reg sr blacktop?

HyperTek

type x motor has more aggressive computer timing, and is a lil different for some reason, alot of aftermarket stuff will list for s13 sr, but not the late kouki model motor...

i got mine from japan motor import... i did get the motor, the motor itself looks to be in good condition.... it came with a bunch of extras like a GRiD ecu, much bigger HKS Turbo, etc... it was worth the money if it starts but there was alot of stuff broken/wires cut on the motor/harness... the wires for the MAF were just not there... the CAS was crushed but they included a good one with the motor, the turbo that was on the car(T25) had broken bolts on the turbine housing... overall i got a sweet ass deal if the motor is good i paid $1800 for a redtop and ended up getting a blacktop with all of that stuff... i have bought quite a few motors from all over the place and will buy more in the future... for good sellers from personal experience i would say jarco, venus-auto, & noyan usa... i've also had 2 unpleasant experiences with osaka jdm, they sell shit motors and dont honor their warranty too well...

The best place to buy an SR is in Japan, the same place it was last year when this thread was made.

It is great to search for answers. It is bad to bump OLD threads to make the same old point. This thread is now closed.
