here is where we have gotten so far. i was just looking for input on what you guys think about how these mounting positions look and to see if anyone else had any good ideas. ive never seen anyone else's oil filter relocation and cooler setups, and our cooler is quite large so we are having to mount it at an angle. here are the pics

the oil filter is angled to be normal (90 degree angle) to the cross brace right now, but i was thinking about clocking it to align normal with the inner fender for looks.

the oil cooler seems to be easier to mount with the end tanks pointing down, but i was a little worried about doing this as low as this car is.

the oil filter relocation kit was $150 shipped off ebay and about 60 for the cooler from summit and i have to say, this kit is one of the best no name brand things i have ever bought off ebay. it has an awesome show quality fit and finish and 13 ft of 1/2in ss line, etc. etc. all for an awesome price. it is universal so it comes with the 20X1.5 thread that you need and another one you dont, and it easily threads all the way onto the block unlike the summit one (transadapt) i had to return.

this is the one i got, and as you can see it comes with almost all of the an fittings needed as well.

here is the same thing with an oil cooler with it.

there is another seller who sells the exact same thing on there for the same price as well.

let me know what you guys think,
bryan

wow, i'll have to check those auctions out, thanks for the heads up...

as for mounting, i've seen them mounted (with a small fan) in the area where the battery tray is (if its relocated) i dont think it gets a huge amount of airflow (hence the fan) but its a easy place to work...

anywhere 'under' the car would work... maybe even in front of the radiator if the lines reach

That kit is very nice, nice job.

While we're on the subject here is my setup. Other kit wasnt available back when i was looking for one so i got that. Its more of a diy since you got to do the lines yourself and there is no extra holes for sending unit. But it didnt cost but 40 was a deal (plus lines and fittings).

what is the sending unit for? Is the oil pressure sensor, because I dont get why you cant use the stock location. Maybe KA is different than SR. I got all my stuff off racerpartswholesale.com and its all top notch. Aeroquip lines and fittings, all AN. tru cool oil cooler and morcal filter relocation shit. Its going in this friday. I think I'm going to mount the cooler in front of the tire and the filter where Al S14 has his. I think on the radiator is bad because I already have a FMIC in front of the radiator and I didnt want to put anything else there. I'm takeing out the turn signals and running ducting to the brakes on both side and oil cooler on the passenger side so the air wont be an issue. I was running consistantly 110 degrese celcius at the track last month so hopefully this will help keep the temps down even more.

factory location requires an adaptor to convert BSP to NTP and by the time you bolt adaptor in there is no space to clear the alternator

plus why cram everything in one place while you can put it in a easy to access location

well is that a sender for an aftermarket sensor or just a relocated stock sensor?

Are those really so bad? I guess its hard to see it off the car. do you think oil cooler thermostats are nessicary? I have a track only car so I'm not running one, but for a street car . . . ?

is there any other option? Im just looking for the sandwhich adapter. I heard too many bad stories about the transadapt one. Ive seen other that go for 60+, but i like the price of the Transdapt one
