I found a 1998 240SX around where I live. SHE is an original owner of the car I guess. Its automatic, and its an LE model.
It has 140k miles on it, and the exterior/interior are in "great" condition. (By her words)
What would you all pay for this?
Also what the hell is the diffrence of model's in LE, SE ect.ect.
THANKS

She didnt give me a firm price, Im asking what would be a good price to offer.
Also, I tried to search "Models" , "SE LE", Model Type and nothing.

try typing in "1998 240sx specs" in google and im sure you'll find a site that compares the models.

yeah since shes jsut a "normal" person she proably has no idea of its value so offer her few hundered under kbb.
i happend to purchase my s14 from a female driver ... and it didnt look pretty . at 120k engine was gunked up as if it only had 2 or 3 oil changes done. at very least remove the oil cap and see if you can scrape any gunk with your nail.. you can you try to get her to allow you to remove the cover to see how bad it is.

It's worth $5500 or so...IMO, and acording to KBB and Edmunds.
But guys in Cali are paying $8500 for that car.
I paid $6600 for my wife's '98 a few months back (in Florida)...same car as you described ('98 SE, auto, ~128,000 miles, good condition). I would have liked to pay $6000, as that seemed fair...but it was there, we worked a GREAT trade, etc...so I went for it.
Most I would EVER pay for a high-mileage '98 would be right about what I paid...these guys that say "oh, they're so rare"...or "man, an original Kouki, not a converted 1995"...and happily pay $9000 are idiots. Let me repeat that...idiots.
When the craze is over in a year or so, they're look to sell and get $4500 for that same car. Me too, but I didn't pay out the nose for it.
Anyway...I'm ranting. Sorry.
The gist is...consider the resale a little, and dpon;t pay too much.
If you must a have a '97-98 look...buy a $2500 old and nasty '95 base model, swap front ends, get a NICE paintjob, kit, wheel, coilovers...and have a MUCH nicer car for the same $$$.

Agreed 100%. Only benefit is if the car truly is an LE, it has a few nice options not offered on SEs and is slightly more rare. But it's still an 8year old car, and no matter what people with a hard on for drifting are willing to pay for it it's still only worth what it would pull at any used car lot.
Plus you've given us nothing to go on at all about options, condition, location, color, anything about the car.
