I am quite familiar with the belly of my s13. . . what exactly do you need to know?

I need to know where the cross member is <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'>
I want to make sure of what it is. It is behind the oil pan right?
And also, you can use jack stands on the siderails, right?
Thanks,
Jeff

To add to that question...If you only have the stock jack (the one slotted to fit the side rail) and jack stands, how can you get the car completely off the ground? Is is safe to use the jack on the side rails NOT on the designated spot? Can the part just inside the sidrail (the floor I guess?) support a significant ammount of weight?

Sorry, when I side side rails, I didn't mean the siderails where side skirts go. My bad <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
What I meant was the huge rails that are under the car. I think it's the frame, but alas, I am new to working on cars myself <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>

When you put it on jack stands, do it from the unibody "frames" about a foot in from either side, those two inch wide by three inch tall rails are structurally strong enough to do what you want. Do NOT simply put the jack stands under the floor, make sure they're on those rails
