This might be a stupid question but, isn't the hole where the air box leads to too small for the cold air extension to get through. My question is if you need to cut a bigger hole there for it to fit? Also, if you have to cut it, how would you go about doing it? Any info appreciated.

Hi,
On my S13, there was no modification. You have to work with all the pieces a little bit and figure out where they go. But the clamp goes under the hole (you have to reach it from under the car). What year do you have?

hey toddnappi, what year is your s13 & what type of CAE are you using? i really want to get one for my injen intake, but they dont make one for my year-89. so im wondering what year is yours cuz i know the hole you're talking about & my car has it too. im just wondering why theres no CAE for the 89. let me know, thanks.

Thanks for the info, the year I have is a 93'. One more question though, is there a big power difference you see when you have the extension on? I heard it gives you a little more power. Thanks.

hi, i have a 94 with an injen extension, i'm not sure if they make them for the sohc's. i wouldn't know if there is a power difference because I have always had the cai & cae on at the same time, but I like it that way, and i would definately say buy the cae. it should fit perfect, just do a test fit and figure out what pieces go where. The really bendy one stays in the engine bay, while the L-shaped one goes under the car.

Sounds good, I'm gonna get that for my first mod and then probably get a new exhaust. Thanks again.

theres not a CAE for the SOHC b/c of the bumper. On the DOHC there is a vent in the bumper below the turn signal. This vent is where the CAE gets the cold air. On the SOHC you don't have such a vent, and I'm not sure about how much room there is behind the bumper to fit the filter..

the vent under the turn signal are for foglights. the 240 in Canada should get them stock.
