Last week I put a cone filter on my 95 240 S14 and at first it was cool but my check engine light came on. We put one of the mass air flow sensors in the air filter and the other one where it's supposed to go. You can only hear the filter's cool sound at like 5 ++ RPM and my freind has a sentra and you can hear his as soon as he hits the gas and his check engine light doesn't go on. I don't know if it's just me or my car is starting to run like shit and didn't perform like it did when I first put on the filter. Any suggestions? And I have only seen one real cold air intake for 95 240 S14 by Ingen are there any other real cold air intakes out there? thanks

OK, well there is only one MAF sensor, so I am assuming you are talking about the other small sensor(I think its a temp. tensor, but I'm not positive) you put in the filter.
Anyways, If you started the car when the MAF sensor was unplugged, that would cause the check engine light to come on. Maybe it is not plugged in tightly, or got knocked loose if you didnt unplug it on purpose. So then, the ECU isnt getting a reading, which would cause the car to run shitty.

Yea... gfisch.
Try resetting your ECU. When I put on my Injen intake, I had the same problem I actually mounted the adapter wrong causing a bad reading and I had to reset the ECU for the check engine light to go off.
Good Luck.

the temp sensor is not needed to be in the filter, place anywhere in the engine compartment. diconnect the MAFS and reconnect it to assure that it is connected right. then u need to reset the ecu. i dont think disconnecting the battery will work but u can give it a try. u may need to do the different mode thing to clear the code.

So I could just take out that little AFS that I put in the filter and just put it anywhere in the air flow box? Would that help it? And how could I reset the ECU?
