Just trying to get all my eggs in one basket here...

I have ABS in my car which means the gigantic, primitive ABS distribution block is blocking the hole in the firewall the harness runs through. For those who have dealt with this, what is the best angle to tackle this? I was thinking of unbolting the block and the lines and moving it out of the way. My second option, is I have access to a non-ABS parts car... Is it worth the effort to switch over?

Dont know how else your going to get the harness through the small space unless u remove the unit. Im going to fully convert to non abs whenever i swap.. just need the 3 non abs hard lines, and a non abs MC

It can be done, but it's 100x easier with the actuator removed.

I have abs, too, this is refering to like sr wireing harness threading through the firewall? if i swap ill have to do the same thing huh, well i guess u can just temporarily remove the actuator put the harness in and then replace it, might be good cause it gives me a reason to blead and refull my brake hydro system.

just undo the three bolts that tie the ABS unit down. the wires arent that strong u can pull it out enuff so that u can get the engine harness thrut he hole. it works a lot better with 2 ppl tho. one to push the harnes and wiggle it around, the other to reach up under the dash and feel for it and pul it down to the ECU spot.

altho it would probly be a lot easier if u just swap out the ABS using non abs MC and lines. im hopefully doing my swap in a week.

Yeah, I am leaning more towards just yanking it. There are enough dead S13s in the junkyard with their brake lines intact. Exactly which 3 lines do I need to grab? Do I need the lines that go all the way to the back of the car??? Also, where that distribution block is, that would be a good spot to place a catch can.

i did the swap, and you DO NOT need the line that goes all the way to the back of the car, i learned this after i swapped it.... but yea, you need i think 3 or 4 of the lines in the front, to each front caliper then to the rear line, so i think only 3, but you will see if you go to the you-pull it, and the stock abs MC will be fine, just take out the plug in it, but you can swap the brake booster, the nonabs is thinner, leaving you another inch or two of space, but i don't think it's necessary, but i did it anyway

oh and if anybody wants my parts, i have them and i don't need them, i got another nonabs s13 im working on, so i have a full ABS brake kit plumbing, and non abs plumbing, including boosters/MCs/Lines/distribution block
