Option 1: convert to rear axle, then run dually tires, two steelies at a time!

or

Option 2: flip steelie inside out, -75 offset!

Those are hot for an AE86 but the wheel diameter is a bit small for our 240's.

Excellent work put into those though.... :D

only one question: where can i get something like that done at?

i've thought about flipping the steelies around and have like -75 offset. :)

none of those wheels came that width, it seems modifying the width is the point of this thread. theyre 5 lug, i have no idea what spacing, but if the money is being dropped to widen them, the lugs can be modified as well.

Yeah, that was all the rage a while back. You guys do realize its about $220 a wheel to get them widened. So yeah, $880 for steel, 15 inch, anti-brake cooling, heavy SWEETNESS wheels!!

yep. Circleracing.com

The whole, "I built my own wheels" thing is what's most attractive to me. It would be pretty trivial to order some 16x10 +15 steelies(or aluminum) and paint the centers.

Well you have to admit, it is kinda retarded running a staggered set up on fwd car. 10in wide rear wheels on fwd? You know they're not running that up front. That IS dumb.

Anyways, i would definitely rock widened steelies for track wheels. Especially if they're that cheap! :bigok:

As a VW owner, I can agree with this 100%.
Stretch is one thing, staggered fitment on a FWD car is silly looking.
A lot of VWs with stretch have stretch for the sake of stretch and aren't even trying to clear fenders.

Widened steelies are pretty played out in the VW world, but some Rabbit people still rock them.
Usually on shitty "rat look" cars with nothing worthwhile under the hood.

i had these made,

15 x 7 0ET 5 x 114.3

full polished lip, 3.5 inches of it

they are 2 - piece welded steel, not very light but if you hit a curb you'll crush the curb and wont do a thing to the wheel.

i ended up selling them because i sold my S14 that i was going to winter-pig.

i can get more i beleive, the centres are shabilly painted, i never really went hard at it.

A good wheel to use for 5-lug apps would be a MkIII supra spare. They're full size 16" and since they're always just the spare, they're never bent, and always in the trunk at the junkyard.

Here's some offsets that'll work without pulling fenders.
You can go more aggressive if you add negative camber, roll fenders, pull fenders, etc, but these are a safe starting point.

for yall asking about backspacing this chart tells you from what offset u want to what backspacing you would need. IE-want a 0 offset on a 8 inch wheel u need 4.5 in. backspacing.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/shift_s14/tech-wheeloffset.gif

isnt that wrong? I thought 0 offset was center of the rim? isnt the center of the rim half the width? and back spacing is mesuring the distance from the back of the rim to where it mounts to the hub? so therefore an 8 inch wheel with 0 offset, wouldn't it have 4 inches of backspace ?

When you order a X inch width wheel it is measured from the inside of the wheel barrel where the tire sits. Backspace is measured from the outside of the barrel. IE if you have a 9" wheel and measure it from end to end it will be wider than 9 inches.

this man speaks the truth, width is there to show you how wide of a tire you can put on it, backspacing deals with suspension component clearance.

Im throwing on a set of new Police cruiser wheels from our local Crown Vic's and rocking those next winter. I like the polished center caps they rock too. Haha. Another reason for a cop to hate. :fawk2: Their wheels look better on my car anyways.

Ok guys. ive been poking around the stretched/flush thread and since ive been only looking for 3 weeks oor so.. i has a question or two.

http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/crr-397_w.jpg

would cragar's 17x9 +0 poke too far for a stock s13 rear fender?

i would probably run a 215/45 to 225/45

they look pretty sweet. and their price tag for those specs cant be beat.

They are heavy as shit. One of the guys on one of my local boards had them on his coupe. They didn't look THAT bad, but yes, they weigh about like 40 lbs or something stupid. Can't remember.

Im really needing to see some stretched saw-blades on a pignose. Maybe 9-10 inches wide. I have seen a lot of corvette guys that widen their stock wheels. More than a few C4's with stock sawblades that are like 12-13 inches wide. It looks fucking sick. Ill see if i can find a pic.

those cragar's would look so dope powdercoated white on a coupe.

in other news, this thread is old as fuck.
