Ok, here's the deal. I had a lightly modded (emanage and 370's) 96 240. The car ran fine before I took the parts off. I removed the emanage and put the stock 270's back in. Now the car runs like crap. It runs so rich that the fumes will fill up the garage and make my eyes sting. It idles like garbage. It threw the code of cyl3 misfire. It revs past 3k so its not the maf or the maf wiring. I think it may be one of the injectors because the bottom of it looks crushed up a little. I unplugged the injectors one by one and there was little difference between the cylinders. If I remove the plug wires one at a time it runs worse and eventually backfires so I dont think the entire cylinder is out. I tested the voltage going to each injector clip and they are all the same so I dont think its a wiring issue. I think the bad injector may be dumping too much fuel into the cylinder causing it to run so rich. I changed nothing besides remove the emanage, wideband and change the injectors back to stock since the problem has occured. What are the symptoms of a faulty injector? Please help, I need to get this thing running so I can sell it.

Swap injectors between cylinders and see if the problem swaps cylinders as well. More than likely that's the issue though and you'll need a good injector to replace the damaged one.
You did wire the MAF back in as OE, correct?

which part? the plastic piece on the tip or the rubber o-ring?
how did you reinstall the injectors?
you probably need another injector or new injector o-rings (or preferably, both).

I reconnected the one wire that needed to be spliced for the emanage. I never had a different maf so that one wire was all. I switched them already and didnt notice much difference. The car idles like crap already so its hard to notice if it runs worse

The o-ring looked bad and it was the part just above the tip before it gets fat (the part right above the bottom oring).
I installed them by dropping them in and screwing the cap down. Should I snap them in or just let the cap push them in?

you need to twist with your hand until they snap in place. do NOT torque them in with the caps. i learned this lesson the hard way.
imo what happened is you crushed that little ring, which then let gas spray past (remember its under pressure) the inner o-ring and it flooded the shit out of your crankcase and cylinder. check your oil; i bet its as thin as water from all the gas.
get four new o-ring seal kits and install the injectors again. change the oil and filter. use engine oil to lube the injectors as you put them in.

I agree, the o-ring is leaking. I too learned this the hard way

do you think it will matter if the bottom part of the injector above the bottom oring was crushed a little or will a new oring seal it up?

k, I just changed the o ring that was busted. Now it runs fine but still smokes like crazy. Could the injector still be leaking even though it runs fine?

did you change your oil and filter?
the gasoline goes into oil when you flood to all hell
i would get a cheap filter and cheap oil, plus good filter and good oil
put the cheap shit in, run it for a bit
then change the oil and filter again

could possibly be your intake manifold gasket or air plenumb gasket.
on my altima this was a common problem. it could be on the 240KA also.
$500 to fix it

bro you got shafted. maybe its much harder to get to on an altima?
but on a 240sx i could install both those gaskets in under an hour. reprime fuel pressure and bleed the coolant and you're good to go again. the gaskets themselves are pricey for gaskets but wouldnt run you more then $50 bucks or so combined.

I did that. The oil smelt like straight gas. Would there still be enough gas residue to cause it to smoke though?

possibly. i don't know, to be honest. i'll find out this weekend though.
i'm also going to pull the intake piping and shine a light into the throttle body. i wonder if its possible gas pooled up in there as well.
