I'm pretty close on closing the deal on and SR20DET an individual has out in Canada. But, there are a few things missing which he said I could source out and I'm assuming Heavy Throttle would be quite helpful for those parts. this is whats the package is including:

-Engine

-Top Engine Harness

- ECU engine harness

- No ECU.

- Lower Engine /transmission harness

- Power Steering pump

- Alternator

- Starter

- AC compressor

- Igniter Chip and assembly / some wire cut

- Turbo

- MAFS

- Throttle Body

- Transmission

So, all you experts out there... give me the low down on what I need to do to make this swap complete.. and please, no posts/FLAMES telling me to save up more for the entire front clip.. I'll be planning on upgrading to an FMIC and lots more upgrades so this is a project in the works.. I'm really looking forward to build this car up and I'm doing it for the fun and build up VWs in the past.. I can't believe how excited I am about building up a Nissan. Anyway, any suggestions.. tips, and opinions will be greatly appreciated and look forward to be one of the Silvia crew. Also are the clutch pedal assemblies REALLY that hard to locate for the S13? I was thinking of doing the convert from Auto to manual then a couple of people I've talked to have said its better off to save and wait for a 5speed.. and that the clutch pedal assemblies are extremely hard to locate and find.

Anyway, Thanks for all the help!

1) You would need a ECU, some kind of downpipe and air filter.

2) Top Engine Harness - There's no such thing unless he meant to say it's the top harness for the ignition coil packs. That's called ignition sub harness. If he's missing that you can source those readily, we have a bunch of used ones because we switched to the Splitfire coil packs that replaced the whole sub harness.

3) Ignitor Chip - some wires cut. Now, I would really be worry about this statement. The wires connecting to the ignitor chip IS THE MAIN ENGINE HARNESS. Out of everything you get for SR, a cut engine harness is something you don't want to buy.

I would have the guy take picture of what he's got and you inspecting the picture carefully before you spend your investment.

Just my opinions.

I have seen the pictures, However, I'm unsure if the wire I see is the actual MAIN ENGINE HARNESS. If it is cut, would there be a way to replace the Wire Harness? Being that I would need to replace the ecu.. thanks for your insights Anyone else have any suggetions?

And are clutch pedal assemblies difficult to obtain?

TIA

How much of a difference do the splitfires make w/ a redtop?

This all depends on one thing...the asking price. How much? Then we can tell you if it's worth it or not.
