My alternator is shitting out on me, last night my car wouldnt start unless jump or push started.
Question is... is there any SE-R alternator compadiable with the redtop motor?
I've heard a 1000 times about the KA is compadiable with the top bolt drilled out.. Searched to no avail..
But was just curious to my other options, besides rebuild, or the OEM sr20..
Can't even find the OEM sr 1..
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
I gotta go to work tomorrow.. and its gonna suck push starting it myself.
Any suggestions for a quick fix?

yikes...you're going to drive on a dead alternator???
no alternator ---> no power ----> no spark ---> bye bye running motor
as for the alternator, wont the usdm sr20de alternator work?

UPDATE: just got my alternator bench tested. And it holds 14. something Volts.
Alternator runs like a champ. Narrowed it down to Starter, starter relay, or battery.
Battery is a couple of months old, and the alternator is in tip top shape so i dont see why my battery is gone bad. But might as well check it with the starter..
I wonder if i can finish by tonight.. Hmm

once the car is running....does everything seem normal? turn on headlights and no change? b/c a car won't run normally on a altenator or battery by itself
my altenator went out a couple months ago.. Cost around $200 to get it rebuilt...your lucky :)

Yea, everything runs perfectly fine while the car is running. But the problem is, when the car is off, and I try to turn the ignition, it clicks ONCE. And the car wont take a jump start. So i have to resort to a push start and it took me all the way home without any problems. Lights, turns, radio and all worked too.
Then I came home and started it again... to no avail. Just took out the starter last night and am gonna get it bench tested tonight.

UPDATE:
Flashback.. So i bench tested the alternator, came out to be around 14.2volts or around there. Bench test the starter and it came out to be around average power. Wasnt crapping out.. .wasn't super healthy. Tested the battery to find out it was merly above half way charged...
So I have narrowed it down to maybe a starter relay... Wow.. torn everything apart to find that everything was still pretty healthy.
Just glad I didnt spend a couple hundred bucks to figure this out..
As for my problem... (turns ignition, *clicks once*...... jump start... only worked once... push started twice... when car is on... runs perfectly fine.. full power.. working headlamps, tails, turns, radio, etc.
I have seen similar problems to where the starter was being shorted out by touching another metal piece close to it.. bad grounding.. but I dont seem to have any of the above..
As for the starter... the ground cable is ground to the top bolt of the starter solnoid correct? Ill try to get pics after work.. but Any suggestions and insight would be appreciated
