I have a 1998 240SX equipped with ABS. I want to get the 300ZX brake upgrade and was wondering if I need to install the upgrade differently since I have ABS and if there are any extra parts I will need. Do I just need calipers, pads, rotors, and brake lines? Is it a pretty straighforward install or do I need to mod anything to make them fit correctly? Also I heard that if I install these I will have no E-brake, is this true? Thanks in advance.

I am talking about front brakes BTW.

if all you are doing is the front brakes you will not lose your e-brake. as far as the abs i am not sure, you would think so because of the sensor.

Yes, you'll lose your ebrake since the ebrake is on the front wheels. :wtf:

ABS doesn't care what rotor/caliper combination you have, the sensor is in the hub.

to keep the ebrake you need the rear ebrake assemblies as well as the calipers/rotors, and you'll need to custom make your ebrake cables. I would also strongly reccomend using the 300zx master cylinder as well. It's a straight bolt in piece, with abs you don't even have to bend the lines, just plug and play. Have fun with it, its a great setup.

Or use R33 cables. Shame we're not talking about the rears though in this thread.

Dude, take it from me...at this point, I don't think you need 300zx brakes, and if you were gonna do it, doing it on all 4 corners is the way to go.

Go all the way with it or don't do it. The stock s14 system with better pads, rotors, fluid, and lines will hold up fine at this point, man.
