luisgonz: I dont recommend (vibrating aluminum drive shaft)

I bought an aluminum driveshaft from luis' group buy. The shaft vibrates violently at 60MPH and above. It is so bad that the entire car feels like its about to shake apart. I have contacted him and he replied saying I needed to rotate the shaft 90 degrees.

I have rotated the shaft 90 degrees 3 times and it still vibrates. I put my stock driveshaft back in and the vibrations are gone. I contacted him saying the shaft is defective and to refund my money or pay for the repairs or send a new shaft. It has been 2 days now and there is no reponse.

I will update this if he resolves this issue.

Why would rotating 90 degrees fix it, I mean if it is unbalanced I would think it would always be unbalanced regardless of how it's clocked. Hope you get it resolved....

i'm not sure either, but the service manual says to rotate at the final drive companion flange 90/180/270 degrees if there are vibrations at higher speeds

as far as it has only been 2 days.... it is the 3rd day now without response. If you are busy then I'm sorry, but if you run a business you need to constantly check your email and such. The other guys i deal with respond the same day. It is good business practice and courtesy to your customers.

If this gets resolved then this review will change back to neutral and not negative. This is a new driveshaft and it shouldn't be vibrating, so that to begin with isn't so good.

2 days is nothing.
Not everyone lives on their computer.
If it goes 2 weeks or more, THEN you have a reason to gripe.
