those are like urethane inserts. there are also 4-pc and 8-pc metal inserts. far better IMO for the $$$ spent.

cool thanks, well i was planning to get the metal ones from spl parts, but i'm gonna be using my s14 as a daily driving. so i just want something that is in between with out too much NVH. because one of my friends has the spl spacer, well, let me tell you, that shit cluck like a bitch. so i'm still thinking what kind to get. oh i found some urethane ones on enjuku, it's from peak performance, i never heard of that brand so i don't know if its good or not. any ideas?

Yeah, I have experience of putting those on Enjuku Eric's subframe when he swapped his old busted one out for a new one.
They're kinda squishy, but they definitely takes out the slack that the subframe usually has.
The rear end never bounced, wheel hopped, or clunked from dead stop launches, with clutch slipping, all the way to 4th gear rev limiter.
His setup is D2 coilovers all around, the rear is maxed out (I'd know cause I did it) on lowness, and running stock arms everywhere else. He's got 205/50/15 tires on 15x7 rear wheels.
Just for comparison, I still get crazy wheel hop from my 205/50/15 rear wheels with stock arms and Tanabe GF210 springs with KYB GR-2 shocks. No subframe spacers.

I have SPL spacers - they helped reducing my fishy rear end when I first got the car. HOWEVER, they couldn't solve the problem completely, since I believe my subframe bushings are really worn out.

I have a question to add to this thread, if you buy the spacers, it is pretty easy to DIY, but if you buy a urethane bushing set, you have to burn out your old bushings, correct? generally speaking, how much would a shop charge to do a bushing replacement if you brought them the new bushings? and would bushings AND spacers be overkill on a daily driver? I'm getting wheel hop in my '98 and judging by how shitty my bushings were on the front/rear sways, I bet the subframe ones are gone :wtc:

ok... for subframe bushings, IIRc, there are the aluminum ones, which will cost a crap load to do at a shop since you have to drop the entire subframe. I would imagine the same with urethane subframe bushings. I know I can't afford it, so. fuck it.
I thought you can't get urethane subframe bushings from Nissan??

there is a subframe spacer GB going on here at zilvia too....i think. It may have ended by now but it has been going off and on for about 1.5 years it looks like. $60 for a set of bottoms from powertrix, not too shabby

sounds good, i guess i'm going with enjuku's subframe spacers. but just out of curiosity, arn't pp the same as tanabe ones. because both are urethane and from the pictures they look almost identical. from the pictures the only difference are the color, one is red and the tanabe is blue

I can make some black ones... color makes no difference. You can pick the materials: urethane or aluminum.
