i have a four puck unsprung act clutch with extreme pressure plate, i had it for almost a whole year, but it started making a loong squeeling noise only wen its cold, and wen it warms up it stopped. i took it apart nd it was pretty warn down already, nd my pressure plate was grounded out. my clutch itself still had some meat on there but i wanted to know is that the cause of the squeeling? or is it something else that causes it?

Squeeling sounds like your belts. Tighten your belts. If it's a whine from holding your clutch in, it's your Throw Out bearing.

I kinda have the same problem I think.

It's only when I go to slip the clutch during start up from a stop light or whatever, and it doesn't do it all the time either, only sometimes.

Mine's a SPEC stage 3 6 puck clutch though, and I've had it on the car since 2 years ago. Been to the drag strip like 3 times, no problems as far as performance or shifts, and even flogged on the car back in June for a whole day at a road course.

yeh thats what mine is doing, its when im about to engage it. i dont know if its throw out bearing. its not when i hold it in all the way, its when i let it slip.

Well, I don't know if it's the belts for real or not, but I can tell you that, one time I did a burn out for like 15 to 20 seconds, dumping the clutch at 4k rpm, and held my brakes when I did it. After that burn out, the clutch didn't squeal anymore for the rest of that drive during engagement/slippage.

Perhaps it's because of the materials that SPEC used for their Stage 3 kit is just noisy, and squeaks and squeals when you go to slip it, kinda like some brake pads.

But your clutch is an ACT clutch, so I don't know what your squeak/squeal is from. However, it seems like whatever is causing the squeal, is common between your car and my car....
