I just put some 5zigens fno1's on my 89 coupe. What tire/wheel care products do you use to keep your wheels and tires protected and glistening?Any advice on brushes that wont scratch the weels?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

i just use dishwasher soap for the wheel because its great for stripping off all the brake dust. I personally dont use a brush, i just use a nice abrasive rag soaked in the soap stuff. Just let it sit for a few minutes then rinse away.
if you have any residue get another rag and wipe it off....

Meguiars just launched a WHOLE list of care/ shine product lines that take to the avid Drifting pretty consumer. .. .FN01's Rarely come with clear coats unless they are the black/chromes, then just use the standard wash you use on the car. .. .wash the wheels 1st. .. .
Go take a look. .. .http://www.meguiars.com/
I use turtle wax chrome polish personally, long history with it, love it/ hate it. .. .still got it.
Meg's comes in on the actual wash of the Zenki, very soothing smell for hot daze & very clean washoff, good protectant addatives, beautiful on carbon fibre. .. .i'll take some images sometime
Oh, invest in some RAIN-X

just wash them often enough to the point where you dont have to use heavy or strong abrasives/solvents...
but when i used to care about wheels, i used black magic for the tires...not too bad and it smelled like cherries...and just car wash soap for the wheels...soap is soap is soap...whats the big dealie?...

I actually do have the hyper blacks so I think there is a clear coat on them. Dish soap sounds good to me. I'm just kinda new to this stuff and don't want to fuck anything up. Anyone know what I should do about the tire rubbing the wheel well during sharp corners? I see that the right side of the car's wheel well just started falling off(because its old). Is it ok to cut away sections of the wheel well or no?
Thanks for the replies!

hyper black fn's, woot woot. that's what I'm rocking on my fastback. To take care of the tire rubbing, you could roll your fenders (bend the inner lip up vertically). Which you can do with a fender roller or a blow torch and mallet. Unless it is the front fender liners or something, then take those out and roll the fenders anyway. If you search on the subject "fender rolling" you will find much more info.

You can use dish soap on your rims. The thing is that dishsoap strips wax off. So if your like me and you like your rims waxed (which protects them and also makes'em bling) then use car wash soap. The key is though, like someone else said, is WASH your car and rims often and they won't get bad at all.
