T25 Problem.

The T25 made a funny noise while boosting tonight. It sounded somewhat like a whistle, highpitched and loud. When I backed off it sounded like a large turbos' compressor surge. Is it on it's last legs?

Could be, or you might have a leak somewhere, whether it be in the intercooler pipes or (more likely) the turbo gaskets

mine came loose from my manifold, and made that noise, bc of the leakage i presume.....just re-locktighted it and it was fine...good luck

Thanks for the replies, boys. However if none of these solutions solve my problem, should I purchase a new T25 or try and rebuild my current one? I've looked around quite a bit and with the exception of the ebay turbos, I have not found a single one. Where might I find a brand new T25 turbo? From a Nissan dealer? from Garrett? Also, I have a feeling my local garage would charge an absurd amount of money to install this new turbine(even though I used to work there), so I was thinking about doing it myself(with a few friends of couse). Now I'm not mentally retarded, which helps quite a bit in my everyday life, so I figure I might be able to do this installation. Is it tough to do, or is it as simple as swapping out one part for another? Thanks so much.

yar sam its easy peasy lemon squeezy. ill help you, its just a unbolt... disconnect lines, put in new one.. connect lines.

Okay cool! Can you buy the turbo too? That'd help a bunch.
