Just recently ive been looking at buying rims for my car, and ive never really noticed how important it is to get the right offsets, wheels size any everything. My question to you guys is, when you were in my position and didn't really know anything about wheels, what was the best approach to understand rims and their sizes?? Too me, its all pretty confusing and I really dont know where to start, thx

find a rim you know the size of and use a ruler to calculate

or copy everyone else and get some fn01rc 17x9 +15

Best way to approach it is use the stickys all over the forums explaining offsets, and search until you understand.

It can be confusing at first, hit me up on AIM and I might explain it for you: xsr20dettx

using what you find online (pic thread for other peoples specs, your stock/current specs, and sizes that wheel companies offer) play around with these two links...youll start visualizing the results...and physically measure just to be safe...

The answer is read about all the terms, look at as many pictures with included wheel specs as possible and read every wheel thread. A good place to start may be tireracks faq/tech section. Dont worry no one is born knowing this shit.

as stated above look for the "wheel buyers guide" and "wheel spec" threads. they get bumped with new stuff at least once a week i would say. also, not to beat a dead horse, but the search button comes in handy here. search the above phrases including "offset" and "wheel/tire combo" and you should come up with lots of helpful info.

happy hunting!

get rims with a +25 or lower offset, and at least 8inches wide.. then worry about looks.. That should be easy..

But id still rock some oldskool 17x7 +35 advan SA3Rs... my favorite rims.. even if thier sizing aint aggressive.
