s14 greddy lip..

hey... after getting fed up with fixing my greddy lip for my s14 i could never figure out a way to correctly fixing it with out it breaking again in the same place... using fiberglass i created a plug/mold using the old one.. and i have produce close copy of the old lip.. just woundering if anybody is interested..... im not taking orders or advertising anything just seeing any interest in them...

i wanted to build something that can easly be fixed with supplys from your local hardware store... for very low price.... possibly just supply molds to make your own...

if this isnt ok with you mods.... then please delete it...

hmm.. how about something that will match the stock s14 kouki sides.....i mean i can make a custom one.. but im not going to have time to finish till the week of thanksgiving... i suppose ill post pictures then...

ok.. here are some pictures so far... i gave the fiberglass a week to dry... doesnt smell like resin so its ready... and spray some epoxy primer.. here it is so far...

i gave the "oops" parked too close to the curb test... and i hit some kind of animal on my way to the gas station... and it didnt break or crack.... so this one is deffinatly staying on the car... anyways its not completly done yet.... before i make it look anybetter i just want to see how long it will hold up...

oh yeah on the pass. side i didnt put the braket on yet so there is a lil bit of a gap.. not much.. anyways what do you guys think?

with in the next week ill start on a custom lip... similar but not as big or pushed out...... and it will match kouki sides...

i live on the gulf of mexico.. lots of boats here... i learn from working on a boat yard or whatever you want to call it for a few months... making molds for boats and boat repair....

Its someone else on the forums. I saw it posted up in the pic post thread and figured I'd save it kuz it looks bad ass..
They said they custom made it although I'm not sure how.

i wont be able to do sideskirts untill i find another driver fender though...

how are other companies like Version Select allowed to make copies of Vertex? I dont think there should be any problems. Lots of companies come out with what "looks similar" and can get away with it. If you dont want to sell them publicly do it privately. Pass the word by your customers/email/pm instead of a thread.

I think it's great you know how to use your resources. I wish i knew how to make molds and stuff.

Should try making a s14 zenki stock lip and just messing around with that.

It is a tricky area you are talking about. Only a design patent (expensive) or copyright can be done. Copyright of a design is very shady. But if you change a copyrighted design by a 30% margin, then you are in the clear. Personally, if i were you, i would practice making parts a little longer before you start offering them. And wear a dusk mask or respirator when your are sanding glass or cf. And consider doing your own designs. Don't copy other styles, but use them to influence your own ideas.

i dont have a set date anymore but i will have a tutorial shortly after the new year... within january.... i have just been really busy with stuff here latly to even get around doing it....
