now, after tightening down the pushrod from the booster to the BMC, my pedal is soft, and then gradually hardens and almost locks my brakes until I drive hard enough to blow-off pressure through my BOV. The 2 may be unrelated but the pedal gets really really stiff, and then when I rev to 4k rpms quickly and let off, they seem to soften again. I was thinking that it could also just be air in the lines but it seems related to boost somehow.

also, after driving for about 30minutes, my clutch stops grabbing under throttle more than %50, or even less if I'm in boost. Its a new clutch that I'm still braking in so I haven't even taken it over 4k RPMS.. I don't think my new clutch could already be slipping. I installed it properly, everything torqued to spec.

ideas? suggestions? I'm really frustrated because I only get to work on my car during the weekends and I want to get it running right so I don't have to leave it at my dads in his garage anymore.

clutch is a 6puck copper kevlar w/ single diaphragm pressure plate, and even though the TOB is BRAND NEW.. I get the infamous "whine" noise when the clutch isn't engaged

Possibly need to bleed the brakes and resurface the flywheel?

clutch only slips when car is "hot" ie >30mins driving

i don't know about your other issues. but, i have the whine with clutch out as well. swapped to a 97 tranny, new clutch, pressure plate, tob, flywheel etc. fresh redline fluid in the tranny. voila the noise is back... wtf.. :(

from what i've read:
clutch pedal up, clutch engaged (whine) = input shaft bearing
clutch pedal halfway, clutch partially engaged (whine) = release bearing
clutch pedal down, clutch fully disengaged (whine) = pilot bearing

*edited so as not to confuse the hell out of people with bad information*

hmm.. so the pilot bearing is a probable culprit.. guess I'll change that out when I resurface the flywheel too... thanks

oops. i got my facts backwards. or rather when i was thinking 'clutch pedal' i wrote clutch.

clutch pedal out, clutch engaged = input shaft bearing
clutch pedal fully in, clutch fully disengaged = pilot bearing

:( = because i had the bad luck of buying a used tranny with a bad input shaft bearing as well
