The next level in drifting is here: freestyle shows. Check out some of the best drivers and motorcycle stunt riders, December 3 at Irwindale. No, this ain't D1 it is called XDL. info at http://www.xdlshow.com. See you there.

If they make it as good as Big X (http://www.drft.co.jp/2003event/bigx_report.html) the event will be great, I'm trying to decide if I should go to this or D1 vs US.

I'm not terribly happy with the path drifting is taking in the US... It reminds me of the tuner scene and it's path to "rice" from the 90's to present...

I'll probably watch it if it ever makes it to DVD, but I wouldn't pay money to go see it...

This show is what drifting is all about. Making a spectacle. Getting fans riled up. Going absolutely nutz behind the wheel!! I saw the Falken Drift Showoff when it came to town and it was muy dope. This show is gonna be like a circus for adults and kids. I hope it becomes a national show. I can't make the drive cuz I gotta save for my Sil 80. Doh

looks to be just like BigX. It ill probably be good. Cheap ticket price and you COULD get a ride along. I'm all for it...it is just another opportunity to go to a cool event for cheap. Just take it as what it is, just that, and you will not be disappointed. Don’t worry about what others take it as...or if the sport is going in the wrong direction....idiots getting into it.

one love to c west for letting us display the DRFT RX7

i believe it was mostly due to the lack of marketing in advance, but the amount of people was far lower than we expected. even the number of people in the grand stands were very few. i thought there would be more Big X type stuff, with bikes jumping over drifting cars but it was separated. the drifting was pretty cool, NOB in his GS was pretty ill and the falken guys held it down as usual, made me want a mustang, those things are growing on me.

it was still cool tho, got more time to spend with each customer and whatnot...oh and the guy next door let us ride his 4x4 segway. there were even dudes handing out free tickets in the parking lot.

best of show went to brian's s14, with stock F bumper, NO ss, and painted rear bumper :)

see everyone at D1, thats gonna be ill

wtf are you talking about? you dont drift or go to any track events, you just whine and say that you were the first guy to like 240's and every one else is a band wagon jumper.

you need to stfu.

XDL was lame, low attendence, im not in to bikes so that bored me.

Cool part was i chilled with BH and saw a few other people i havent seen in a while.

I was there. I got in for free. I got 4 free t-shirts and 2 free hats. That made it worth going to. I was still disappointed. Due to the serious lack of marketing it should be called "The Xtremely Dumb and Lame show"

The announcers were fucking annoying as hell, but I did manage to snake about 30 lanyards and a t-shirt.

i agree. low attendence and annoying announcers "hmm are we going to have bikes and cars together?! i dont know!?!?!!!!!!" and bikes that are boring to watch (for me) made it mostly bleh. got my hyped for D1 though. Well, i guess it wasnt THAT bad considering i did win a new set of BFGoodrich tires of my choice. so :hsdance:

p.s.
LOL at that chick in the mazda drive event that lost control and drove into the divider thing.

haha I missed that... I heard a few cars had mishaps. It was fun driving the understeer mobiles out there on the track. It was a shame XDL had such a low turnout.
