Hey guys, hows it going?
With my sister's second child due in december, she no longer had a practical use for her 1995 240SX SE Automatic that she bought new in 1994. She was either going to donate it so it would be a tax-writeoff or sell/give it to her youngest brother of 24 (25 in Dec) years (me). Being in need of someone who would take the time to nurse it back into good health, I took ownership of the car in early October.
I've already heard infinity times the typical "sr20 that bitch" or "why did you get an automatic" etc etc remarks from ignorant bandwagon children and adults, and i've only had the car a little over a month now. I have no intentions of modifying this car beyond practicality (no trans/engine swaps, body kits), as my primary vehicle (think fwd and torqueless) is already modified being prepared for the darkside of turbo boost.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello. Moderators, if this is in the wrong forum, i apologize.

You are a rare and different type of newbe, Im guessing for future tech forum reference. Welcome, you will learn alot. The one thing you should firsts get familiar with on this forum is: "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". Dont let it faze you. If you think you said nothing gay, then they are most likely just trying to get your knickers in a twist.
Welcome

OMG.
No seriously. omFg.
I applaud u for having the intelligence, decency, and initiative to actually read the rules and follow them... and as if that weren't enough, you have net-etiquette as well!
These things seems like common sense to most people, but literally, in my time here, I could count the number of considerate newbies on 2 hands.
As long as you follow thru on your statements, you'll be revered here with love and adoration :D LOL!
Welcome Welcome Welcome!
...24 huh... maybe there IS a correlation with younglings, common decency, and manners... heh.

not to be redundant but you sir are a king amongst men...give zilvia 10 bucks and become a premium member stat...
Is there any way this guy can get a special color for his name? Like "Coolest new user ever-green" or something.

Not trying to take anything away from this guy. But let's at least give him time to screw up before we start naming him the"Chosen One". It is refreshing to see someone come in here and not make their first post about an SR or S15 conversion, but that's no reason to call them "King".
AutoKA24DE, welcome to Zilvia.net. Enjoy yourself. Please continue to follow the Rules and Guidelines, and feel free to contact the Moderators and Admin if you have any questions.

welcome and congrats with posting and not being typical the newb. May you learn and become a valued member and not a smart ass newb, that feels he has to try and prove the veterans wrong. Cynical? Jaded? naaahhh :D

haha thanks again for the kind words...i dont believe i am a king amongst men or anything like that, but it is flattering knowing that maturity and etiquette are valued here on zilvia.net.
i'm going to link this thread in my signature...
take care fellow zilvia.net members
oh yeah, by the way, good guess on the honda/acura being the primary car.
its not going to be a track whore either, i'm just sentimentally attached to it, and tired of all the theft going on associated with integras.

yes, autoka24de's should be chosen last because they are completely inferior to sr20's and anything else for that matter. anyone who has an auto ka24de should immediately swap in a sr20det with a auto to manual conversion.
wait, let me make a new thread asking about it, without any regard to the fact that there are already fiftyteen millionbillion posts on the topic.
and then after that i'll make a post about what are the best mad tiiite jdm parts and dorifto skillzzzz on local mountain roads while delivering tofu.
maybe after i convert to sr20det manual and go drifting, will i be eligible to be anywhere near as cool as you sir.

Your shit talking, correction, great advice has opened my eyes to the reality of my god-awful situation of owning an auto ka24de, and the urge to go manual and sr20det has greatly increased because of your unmeasurable wisdom. only then will i be able to have "great pride" in my "handmedown" 240 that i paid market value for.

manual is the way to go though, as i own a auto, i can attest to the random up and down shifts that this car loves to do. and i can also suggest the harsher shift option found here http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/shifting_faster_with_an_auto.htm and pansy shift no more.
and you can enjoy the whole FAQ here

that connector is for the electronic pressure control solenoid. it basically maxes out the line pressure and overworks the transmission oil pump. i only drove that way for less than 15 miles. i knew something was up when i heard a whining sound (the oil pump crying for mercy basically).
thanks for the new welcomes guys.
i've been doing new searches, and only made a few threads so far.
