Insurance company adjusters are trained professionals that know bodywork. If they said there is frame damage and inspected it there is frame damage. They do not guess. They inspect.
act is your car sustained enough damage to be considered a total at its current retail value based on its mileage. If I was buying it I would not give you more than a couple hundreds dollars for it. its a high mileage 89-90 that has a street value max of maybe 2k in perfect condition that damage is easily $1500 worth of bodywork and paint which is pretty much almost if not 80% of the determined street value which constitutes a total.

ok thanks for your inputs. they only paid me for 1200 for the total loss although the condition was very good and clean. how much are part cars goes for in the market? the car has 200k miles but all other panels are in good condition and it has some upgrades.

thanks

Fix it cheap and sell it. Looks like there is frame damage. It's not so much the dent, but where the bumper is pushed in.

lol, most likely are.... but the guy that came to inspect my car today had me convinced otherwise. the guy didn't even seem to know what i was telling him when i was explaining the slight bend in the core support and the vertical headlight supports.

240sx are unibodies, the rear 1/4 pannal is the frame there is no bolts holding it on, it's all spotwelded, You can concider that car totaled, it's more costly then the book value of the car, expect a check and a tow truck...

I think it's regional.
I'm VERY confident that cali inspectors know their stuff.... up here in po-dunk however, when my car was backed over by a SUV, the inspector/adjustor pointed to my FMIC and said, "wow, you were real lucky he didn't crush your radiator". LOL! :fruit:

nah, there shouldn't be any fram damage, i have an OPTION magazine where damage similar to this occured, drifted into a lightpost I believe, they just cleared the area, popped it out & bondoed, then Maccoed. The same day repair shit. . . This damage honestly looks like a Mallot & bondo project, go learn something. Good luck. If I missed something delacate
