Ok so this doesn't really have anything to do with a 240, thus why I posted it in off topic, but we just finish building this vette and I thought some of you might appreciate it...

ZR1? Well it was one...
http://macadoshus.typepad.com/photos/random/vette_030.jpg

To give you some background the owner bought the turbo setup as effectively a bolt-in setup. Bolt-in it did not, and thus pretty much everything you see on that car is a one-off custom part, and for anyone who has seen one of these in person, they know it is a real tight fit under the factory hood.

Currently it has an extremely mild tune of about 550 horse to the wheels, which will be bumped up before next years race season comes around.

As for taking the LT5 out of a ZR1...well it might not seem like the most logical thing to do. But if all goes as planned, when I said this doesn't have anything to do with a 240, I might have lied.

Wow. Pretty sick.
Never much been into the vettes til the Z06 came out, but that thing is VERY impressive... dyno numbers? or at least estimates?

Nice job on all the cooling gear! There's not a whole lot of room to work there :)

never been a fan of the yellow, but def. a hot car. You'll be hard pressed to find a boost domestic car like that.

fuck me, that engine bay just looks mean with those big ass turbo intakes. A+ work my friend. one of my dream cars is a 69-74 stingray. Mmm

HOLD ON! you just ripped out the ZR1 engine?? WTF? 405 horses werent enough to start with?? not to mention the rareness.. hahaha. im not a corvette fan in the least bit. but a polo green ZR1 i always loved.

Here is a dyno chart of where the car is at now. Keep in mind it is a *very* mild tune for the motor at only 14 lbs of boost. With some timing and more boost it will be a real beast.

Yes, the ZR1 is rare and the LT5 is plenty of powerful for most people, however, this is what the customer asked for, and when you see where the LT5 is going I don't think you will be too disappointed...

the owner should be shot on sight. thats pretty fuggin stupid if i do say so myself. thats like removing an LS6 from a Z06 and putting in a twin turbo LS1.

it just doesnt make all that much sence.. he just destroyed the resale/collector value of the car.. he could have saved money on in the beginning and just started with your typical C4. oh well. different strokes for different folks i guess. just seems silly.

anyhow. all looks nice and tidy under the hood. numbers seem a bit low for some reason though. anyhow, im done sounding like a little bitch. im just so confused.

Yeah...I certainly can understand how it could be confusing. It isn't the most logical thing to do from my perspective either.

The numbers are low simply because this is a very mild street tune, just so the owner can get reacquainted with the car, and will be further tuned before next years race season.

And as I said the LT5 certainly won't be going to waste.

motors can be built. that car will never be the same.

some stuff you just don't screw with.
