I'm just curious as to how much the 1996 S14's used to sell for new, depending on the original market etc. Anyone here know?

Like ^^^ said...around $25k or so, depending on options.

See here:

http://www.240sx.org/links/magazine/index.html

There is a C&D test, they list "estimated prices as tested" as $23k for a 1995 SE...they came out a little higher once they hit the showrooms, though.

haha, on the comparison charts in that C&D article, the comparison vehicles are:

Nissan 240SX
Mazda MX-6
BMW 318is

&

Oldsmobile Achieva!

I wonder how many people cross-shopped that selection? "The BMW handles beautifully, but that Olds is so ugly and soggy, I am irrationally attracted to it. It's nearly absurd levels of mediocrity are inexplicably alluring"

Here in Colorado, the original taxable value of the vehicle (orig. selling price) is printed on your registration. Example, the orig selling price for my s13 is $16352 on my registration.
