yeah, it does suck to be him. The porsche driver was smart to slow down and let him by, because that lancer drivers showmanship ultimately cost him his car.

That thing has to have stock suspension also. Look how high it rides, and how much the body rocks. I would be pulling that kind of stuff in a stock car that rides so high.

Being 2"+ lower doesn't help much if you hit lose dirt going sideways at speeds high enough to flip your car a couple times.
What I want to know is why it didn't crunch in. It doesn't appear to have a roll cage or anything but it landed on its roof twice and HARD on that 2nd time (IIRC cars are built to withstand one rollover) then the 3rd ripped its rear off.

I definately agree that a drop to the suspension would have helped out the cause on that one.
Watching that beautiful EVO flip like three times was heartbreaking <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
Ok now I really want the EVO VII <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Those cars look like they have a high centre of gravity. If I were in a rally, Id rather have an Imprezza, or Puegot over the Lancer. Youd think that theyd at least make the roof a few inches lower than what it is now. Sheesh, either way thats gotta suck.

Besides, making the roof lower really won't lower the center of gravity by that much, the most it will do is have less of an impact zone, so it will be pushed down into the drive much more easily...not a good thing in a rally car, even with a rollcage.

Actually the lotus was not drifting at all. He knows the fastest way around the track is keeping traction. Look at 1 : 05. He was hanging with the Lotus until he drifted and the lotus didnt.

Does anyone know what the wheelbase is on the Evo? That would have a large effect on it rolling or not.

since the U.S spec Lancer and the Lancer Evo are both based on the same platform (Lancer Cedia), they probably have the same wheelbase, which is 102.4"
