Sorry in advance - I know these flood the forums - but I've got some conficting info....after searching, and I can't locate the FAQ for coilover clearance....though I thought 8 inch front need +30 or lower.

S13 Hatch

I have Tein Flex and 17*8 +37 fronts with 225/45 and 17*9 +37 rears 235/45 (Mich pilot SX). - not yet arrived, so determing spacer sizing.
Wondering what I'll need to get the fronts clear of coilovers - I'm not slamming the car and am happy with the flushness of the above wheels...no need for me to get extreme - might require camber/minor roll as is....

SO - back to question - think I can get away with a 5mm spacer on the fronts for effective 17*8 +32 with 225/45 tire?

Some have said 10mm spacer is needed on 8 inch fronts with +35 offest...reasoning for question...

I know sykikchimp has:
17*8 +35 17*9 +38 with 215/45 fronts clear coils ok - ("not with larger tire")

And West's old car:
17*8 17*9(+35) 225/45 fronts need 5mm spacer to clear coils.

TIA - hope it's not locked before some constructive input comes through...

17X8, +25 cleared my Tein HEs with a 225/45-17...I probably had ~1/4" of clearance.

I'd buy a 10mm spacr with longer studs...H&R is best.

tein flex's have better clearance than HE's. But i don;t know 17X8 +37 is around an inch closer than the guys 17X8 +20 ... why don't you just buy a pair of spacers and if you don;t need them return them.

I have N1 pros (old version) those have sucky suck coilover clearance. I clear my 17x9 +20 up front. You should be in the clear then. The tire clearance issue may only be a problem at near or full lock with regards to rubbing the inner fender (or liner if you still retain it). If you can run 5mm spacer in the fronts, and use a 10mm spacer in the rear for better effect. If you go with the suggestion I mentioned useing spacers that wide. Extended studs will be required for the rears, you can get away with in on the fronts, but I'd go with extended studs all around just to be safe.

and now, the oldest guideline in the world:

6" +54 or lower
6.5" +45 or lower
7" +40 or lower
7.5" +34 or lower
8" +30 or lower
8.5" +24 or lower
9" +20 or lower

^^ What I couldn't find....

Looks like I'll still be stuck with spacers on this set.....start with a 5mm if they don't clear as-is, and go from there.

Thanks for input - anyone with flex or +35 up (8 in) fronts feel free to chime in...

id throw a 20mm bolt on all around, should set you up with offsets that are favorable

you can fit a 17x8+35 up front, but with tein flex im not sure, a 5mm would make sure of that.
