I know you guys aren't a big fans of stock 240sx wheels but I need your help. I don't know if I should polish my stock wheels or pay for a new one. This more a question of money...

I'll look like this

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v139/Sunreal/IMGP1779.jpg

Right now, I have two painted wheels on my car (carbone color) and 2 with the original look. I'll have to spend another 6 hours to clear the paint and many many hours of sanding and polishing. I would like to buy very good tires and keep my stock wheels but with that money, I can have something less ordinary but with some crappy tire!
No big deal...

What should I do ?

Those oni's are sik...
Also have you polished anything before? It gets old pretty quick. A good website I use to get the supplies is www.caswellplating.com

yeah, those fake rims are no good.

If you like them then keep them and make them look purty

Ya, but if I was planning to pass the entire summer with them and buy real rims in 2 years for example, is it worth to try ?

vvtisupra and akademikone, I'm looking for something like you. Very old school :) I like that :D

you could polish them. they would take forever to polish up but if u like them so much do it. id say buy new wheels instead of polishing them

[QUOTE=MakotoS13]never underestimate the beauty of stock:

Amen, the stock S14 SE wheels are of a new level of clean. I got a set for 360 shipped with 90% new toyo FZ4's. God bless ebay.

But no, on the other hand, there are stock wheels out there that can make a car, Z wheels look nice painted a flat black. Your best option would be to keep the S13 wheels for a while, lower the car, and just drive around. Who cares about impressing people as long as you arent tasteless or ricey about it, and convert the car to 5 lug. Opens up a whole new realm of wheel options from stock alloys from other manufacturers. Just take a look. You can normally pick up someones stock wheels for dirt after they buy a blinging set of tenzo R's or konig wheels. Im partial to the acura RSX wheels, but they're a different pattern. 5x120 I believe...

**edit** did some tirerack.com research and they (honda/acura) 5 bolt patterns are 5x114

be happy with what you have now, they look great. Save up for newer wheels that are wider and bigger and at the end of the day you will be much happier. Even if you buy a used/beat set of 16x8s its still better to put time into them as oppossed to the 15x6s you have now.
